Come and join me for a fun class about Christmas. You have probably heard of Christmas as a festival where people get excited about presents. But did you know many European Christmas traditions actually come from a traditional celebration of the sun?
Lesson 1: Introduction to Christmas
In this class, we find out about the traditional British calendar, the Wheel of the Year.
We learn about the traditional name for Christmas, 'Yule', and the meaning of this name, and why it is celebrated at this time of year.
You can also share about your culture's celebrations at this time of year.
Lesson 2: Festive Stories
In this class, we learn about some traditional stories from Yule. Perhaps you have heard the story of Jesus’ birth but how is it connected to the sun? We also look at classic literature such as ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Lesson 3: Similar celebrations Around the World
Traditionally, this time of year is associated with bringing light into the darkness. In this class, we discuss different celebrations from throughout history and around the world.
Lesson 4: Yule Traditions
In this class, we will discuss different activities which people do to celebrate Yule, and why. You are welcome to try them at home if you like!

(강사에 따라 달라지기 때문에 강사에게 연락을 하실 것을 권해드립니다.)
