Phonics Fun
Hello! I use the synthetic phonics approach in the class wherein it has a more systematic and explicit approach to learning the phonics sounds.
1. Learn 26 letters and 44 sounds with lots of different ways to spell them - from simple to more complicated logic. It has 3 parts with 26 levels. For each level, there is one set of sounds that takes 5-6 classes to complete.
2. Learn the decoding strategy in reading wherein students learn how to blend the sounds smoothly and how to read easily and with correct pronunciation.
3. Spelling is taught alongside reading.
4. Class Coverage (including games and activities): Individual Sound Focus, Vocabulary, Non-sense Words, Camera Words, and easy to advanced set of Sentences
5. Expand the student's vocabulary and sentence comprehension with lots of pictures.
6. Learn Phonological and Phonemic Awareness after 26 levels of phonics sounds.
ACTUAL CLASS MATERIALS:
IMPORTANT CLASS NOTES:
1. Parents can freely sit in the class to observe or to help deliver the class instruction if needed but I still encourage parents to let the students read on their own during the class.
2. Students sometimes need a small whiteboard, marker, and eraser.
3. Finished homework should be uploaded for the teacher to check. (I highly recommend the PDF files to get printed and pictures of done pages should get uploaded accordingly). HOMEWORK is optional. Just let the teacher know if you would like to include homework. I understand if students are too busy to do homework.
4. For my Phonics Class "ClassIn" is preferable although "Zoom" is fine too. You can download ClassIn here: https://www.classin.com/download/
