So, who is Georgia Fisher-McKenzie?

My name is Georgia. I’m a 37 year old female who is native to Toronto, Canada. I’ve a B.A. degree in Radio, Television & Journalism and a minor in Sociology. Alongside this, I have 16 years of in-home, in-class, online and overseas ESL teaching experience.  I also tutor Canadian students (from elementary school to university and graduate school) the Ontario School Curriculum's Language and Liberal Arts program; everything from reading level 1 books, to writing essays on Shakespearian plays like "Hamlet." With 1000+ testimonials, long-standing client relationships and published work, I can coach a person to improve their grades and skills. My current clientele includes students from around the Greater Toronto Area, Toronto, and overseas (via online Skype classes) in countries like Brazil, Columbia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica and Russia. I work with all levels and ages and specialize in the following areas: pronunciation, report and essay writing, presentation execution, novel study comprehension, business English, ESL, TOEFL, IELTS, KET(Level A2), PET(Level B1), FCE (Level B2), CAE (Level C1) and CPE (Level C2), as well as Ontario's EQAO test prepation. Of late, many of my classes are test-prep related as many people are interested in studying, living or working abroad.

For both children and adults, I take great pride in providing quality classes. Your successes will please me, while your setbacks simply motivates us to try other learning strategies; realistically, such experiences happen, but by working as a focused team challenges become successes. Thus, all classes are designed to coach you toward becoming your best self. For this reason, I create a study environment that allows students to sustain a positive attitude.  You must create a go-getter mindset to reach your goal. 

For example, there are many interesting topics and assignments we will explore. Further, since I have had a great deal of experiences as a published journalist, overseas teacher (in South Korea), local athlete and homestay mother, the lessons are always educational, interesting and thought-provoking.  Making sure that you accurately speak and write a lot, plus leave our lessons with an understanding of the key concepts, this is important.  Further, since service is important to me I do my best to make sure your e-learning leads to your personal growth.  I even sing when the lesson calls for it.  

The fact of the matter is I love teaching.  I enjoy it so much that it is more than a job for me; it is my calling.  I was born to teach. I do my job with pride and take each lesson seriously, so if you are motivated to improve yourself or want to make a difference in your life, but don't know how to study efficiently then let's study together.  You will surprise yourself by what you already know, and there is always something that you can teach me too.  So let's learn from each other.

If and when we meet, I'd love to hear your guess.  Interestingly, we sometimes forget that a smile is understood by people in any country. Hence, a smile, in my opinion, is the global handshake of the world.  How many times have you exchanged smiles with someone who does not speak your language? In every one of those exchanges you communicated a message which was understood.  A smile can mean hello, or it can tell people that you are okay, and in some cases it can even mean yes.  Smiling boosts our courage when we need it, and shows our humanism. All this said, whether or not this is your first time as an e-learner, rest assured that nothing breaks the ice faster than smiling. So,  LETS MEET WITH A SMILE first and from that point onwards build your English skills to a level that makes your smile go from ear to ear.
