MY TOPIC THIS WEEK: Four Healthy Ways to Cope with Failure from 2022

2022년 12월 26일

No one escapes life without experiencing some form of failure. Unfortunately, everyone has to deal with it at some point – whether a personal setback or a professional disappointment.

While feeling down after a failure is natural, it's important to remember that it's not the end of the world. Many successful people have failed multiple times before finally achieving their goals.

For example, Thomas Edison is one of the most famous inventors in history, yet he failed thousands of times before finally creating the light bulb. Abraham Lincoln is another example of someone who faced many failures before becoming President of the United States.

So, if you're feeling discouraged after a recent failure, remember that you're in good company. Failure, like paying taxes, is part of life. And it's something that even the most accomplished people have to deal with. In fact, that overnight success probably came after hundreds of failures. So, don't give up and keep trying until you reach your goals.

Here are four healthy ways to cope with failure.

IDEAS FROM ME

Talk to Someone You Trust

Talking to trustworthy folks about your feelings after a failure can be helpful. It might be a friend, family member, therapist, or anyone you feel comfortable talking to. Expressing your emotions about the issue can help you process what happened and move on.

Write Down What Happened and How You're Feeling

Another helpful way to cope with failure is to write down what happened and how you feel. This could be in a journal, blog, or even a notebook. Writing about your experiences can help you make sense of them and figure out how to move forward.

Take Some Time for Yourself

After experiencing a failure, taking some time for yourself is essential. You can take a vacation. You can go for a walk outside. You can do anything else that makes you feel good and helps you feel rested. Taking time for yourself will help you recharge and better deal with the challenges ahead.

Remember That Failure Is Part of Life

It's important to remember that failure is a normal part of life. Everyone experiences it at some point, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. On the contrary, failure can be a good thing, as it can teach you valuable lessons and help you grow as an individual.

If you're struggling to cope with a recent failure, try using one or more of the above strategies. Remember that it's not the end of the world and that you'll get through this tough time.

 FROM THE PROFESSIONALS

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” —  Winston Churchill

“Successful people don’t fear failure but understand that it’s necessary to learn and grow from.” — Robert Kiyosaki

“Success is measured by how high you bounce when you hit bottom” — George S. Patton

FOR HOMEWORK
