Hello there, my name is Jaslyn.
A little bit about myself:
I am a watchmaker from Singapore and currently living in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. English is my first language followed by Mandarin. I picked up French a few months ago and recently took the FIDE exam. I am new on CafeTalk and would love to share my knowledge in languages aside from pursuing my passion in watchmaking. Creating random objects and 3D printing is my hobby too :D

(3D Printing a hanger that I created for flowers pots)
When I first moved to Switzerland, language was a huge barrier for me. Once I started studying French, I could relate to the different mindset and culture. Every day, I am learning new things which fascinates me. If you are learning English and recently moved to an English-speaking country, do not have fear! I hope to give you more confidence in your speech and articulate your thoughts better.
(Outings with friends after integrating to society)
I learn Dutch and German in my free time as I come from a very multicultural background. Therefore, I truly understand the struggles of integrating in a different culture, alongside language. I did not have anyone to practice French with. Which is why:
- I will be offering conversation lessons.
- I will correct your errors and note them down.
- If you need any advice about migrating into Switzerland, I will be more than happy to help you.
Request for different types of lesson:
- Strengthen specific area. (Example: Grammar, Vocabulary)
- Structured English guidance -I will teach you just like HOW I studied French. (I achieved A2 in 2 months)
Please note: lessons will be conducted in English but I would actively search and translate words to your preferred language if you do not understand me. Don't worry, everything is possible :)
Learning a language is 90% on the student. 10% is the resources and I will do the best that I can. I believe in you!
Thank you for reading my introduction :D
