Hi, my name is Jolene and I come from the beautiful country of South Africa. My native language is English, but I am also fluent in Afrikaans. I was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa when I was 4. I completed my college degree in Business English. In my free time, I read, watch movies, go down to the beach or just spend time with my family.

 I am a certified TEFL teacher and passed my qualification with a distinction. As I like to grow and learn continuously I have also done courses in Teaching Adult Learners, Education in a Changing World and Becoming a Confident Teacher. Currently. I am doing a Diploma in English language and literature. On a Saturday morning for three hours I do volunteer teaching at one of the schools and we teach English to the less fortunate who just can't afford to go to school. I find this a very rewarding and I am truly blessed to have this opportunity, I teach a class of beginners English.

I am so excited to be here and to meet all the wonderful students out there and super excited to also learn from you all about who you are and where you come from. I aim to make my lessons as comfortable as possible, want my students relaxed so that we can have wonderful conversations and learning environment.

I can communicate well at all ages and levels. So, therefore I am able to teach children, teenagers, and adults from beginner to advanced.

British English:  
  • Conversational English: We can pick a topic that interests you or you can choose from one of my topic suggestions.
  •  Reading, Writing, and Grammar: I use a series of lesson plans and they can be made into packages of 10 lessons per package. They go from beginner to advanced.
  • FCE - First Certificate in English.
American English:
  • Conversational English: We can pick a topic that interests you or you can choose from one of my topic suggestions.
  •  Reading, Writing, and Grammar: I use a series of lesson plans and they can be made into packages of 6 lessons per package. They go from beginner to advanced.
I would love to meet you for a lesson and to make sure that you are happy with me as your teacher/tutor, I will be happy to have trial/introduction lessons with students. 

So please go ahead and look through my lessons and see if there is anything that interests you and if there is something else that you want to learn and I don't have a lesson up for it, please feel free to send me a message and request what it is that you want to learn and I will be more than happy to see if I am able to help in that regard.
