About Me:

Hello, everyone! My name is Shelby, but you can call me Shell :) I am from sunny South Africa and I grew up in the beautiful coastal city of Port Elizabeth. I love reading, studying, and being with my friends and family. I am interested in PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY, and ANTHROPOLOGY. I am also very interested in languages, and I am planning on starting the journey of learning Spanish in the near future.

My Experience:

I am very PASSIONATE about learning and teaching. I have lots of EXPERIENCE facilitating various workshops with high school and university students, and I have some experience as an tutor too! I have also taken a TEFL course, so I am QUALIFIED to teach.

My Teaching Style:

I am a very FRIENDLY and INTERACTIVE teacher, and I enjoy LAUGHING and LEARNING with my students. I try to make sure that my students feel COMFORTABLE in my classes and I will do anything to help you feel that way :)

My classes will either focus on GRAMMAR (tenses, expressions and idioms, parts of speech, etc.) or SPEAKING (about a variety of topics), but both types of classes will have opportunities for you to learn vocabulary words and practice using these words in sentences. I use instant correction for grammar and pronunciation mistakes, and I ENCOURAGE questions and discussions.

I would also love it if you would send me suggestions or requests for specific lessons, so I can create a lesson PERFECT for you! :)

Since, I am interested in languages myself, I know how difficult it is to learn a new language, especially if you do not have the OPPORTUNITY to practice speaking with native speakers. I hope my lessons will help you become more COMFORTABLE and CONFIDENT speaking English.
