About me:

Hello, I'm so happy you found my profile! My name is Alison and I am a native English speaker from British Columbia, Canada.
I grew up in a small mountain town that sees the four seasons. There are many clean lakes and rivers to swim in the summer and people travel from all over the world for world-class skiing in the winter. 
Over the last few years, I have been living in Mexico near the capital of Mexico City. It has been a big change to move from a small town to a very populated country and have warm weather all year round!



I am very friendly and love to meet new people. My hobbies include travelling and learning about new cultures. I have visited over 16 countries and still have many more on my list! I would be happy to give you travel advice on the countries I am familiar with.


I also love to spend time outside gardening and hiking in beautiful nature spots as well as cooking, watching movies and spending time with friends.

My Teaching Style: 

My goal is to support my students in making learning as fun and effective as possible. 
English is my first language and I very much enjoy reading, writing and having meaninful conversations. I'd love to help you feel more comfortable speaking English, no matter what level you are at!
I'm happy to work with you to improve your speech, grammar and vocabulary. You can also customize your lesson to focus on travel phrases, job interview questions or any other focus of study that may be useful for your lifestyle.

Qualifications & Experience:

- TEFL 80 hours certification
- Professional writing & editing skills (web content, blog posts, technical documents, etc.)
- More than 2 years of experience teaching English in an online classroom setting with both private and group sessions
- Volunteer teaching experience abroad in Indonesia & Nepal with adults and children
- 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate
- Diploma in Ayurveda & Panchakarma Holistic Medicine
