Introduction:
Hello, My name is Jaimie (ジェイミー), and I am a film music composer and experienced tutor specializing in Tagalog/Filipino, English, Screen Scoring and Life Coaching.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and worked at IBM for 3 years. Afterwards, I moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2018 where I studied at an American university and graduated with a Master's degree in Music (Majoring in Screen Scoring). I worked with Emmy-nominated composers for music preparation, violin recording and as a technical score engineer. These films are released on Disney+ and Netflix. Aside from music, I am trying to learn Japanese and currently studying for N3. But my speaking needs a lot of work. I also really like journaling and stationeries. I have my own Hobonichi Techo and Traveler's Notebook from the Traveler's Company. I like matcha, video games (Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail), traveling to Japan and Korea, and dying my hair different colors.


 

How I Teach:

My teaching style is tailored to the individual needs of each student, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience. I firmly believe in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately, grasping challenging concepts. My goal as a tutor is not only to impart knowledge but also to instill a lifelong love for learning. I like getting to know my students and teaching them based on their individual needs.


I can help you improve your speaking by speaking to you in different scenarios (traveling, studying at a university, making friends, expressing interest, and more). I can also ask you IELTS/TOEFL questions so you can practice for the IELTS/TOEFL exam. I underwent the IELTS before and have successfully entered an American university in Los Angeles.
