Hello everyone!

My name is Mathilda. I am 23 years old, and I am from South Africa. I am a TEFL-qualified online teacher, and I have been teaching online for the past 8 months! I have successfully graduated from university with a Bachelor of Laws degree, and I have worked as a legal assistant at a law firm, drafting and reviewing legal documents, taking notes during court proceedings, and observing courtroom procedures.

Below is a picture of me in a courtroom.


My interests include reading (I have a massive book collection, currently, I am reading Atomic Habits by James Clear), traveling (I am big on adventure, in October 2021 I tried skydiving, however, I lost my in-the-air pictures and videos so I might have to go back again hahaha), cooking, developing recipes, and learning new languages (I am fluent in 5/12 official languages in South Africa). I also enjoy indulging in conversations with different people, from various corners of the earth.

Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy of education is that ALL students are unique and must have a safe and respectful environment where they can get curious about discovering new knowledge.
Why I love teaching: It is so inspiring to make a difference in someone else's life which goes beyond knowledge! Online teaching also affords me an opportunity to meet and work with people from different corners of the earth.
