Hello! My name is Jess and I am an English teacher living in sunny Los Angeles, California! I was born in Los Angeles and recently spent some time teaching in Prague and will be moving to Madrid in the fall!
When I'm not celebrity watching I love to play beach volleyball, go running, play soccer, rock climb, read, and go hiking.

I have been teaching a wide range of subjects for over five years and started teaching English as a second language over six months ago. 

I have experience teaching students ranging from elementary/primary school to adult, beginners to advanced students. Don't worry if you're nervous about your English! I try to create a fun and comfortable environment.  Learning a language should be fun and comfortable!

My qualifications and experience:

I have a bachelors degree in Global Health and English and a TESOL/TEFL degree. In the Czech Republic I taught in two schools specializing in business and general English I taught all ages from kindergarten to working professionals in their 50s and older. I have a background in English as my college minor so I am available for any proofreading or advanced writing help as well.

I have taught a wide variety of professionals in many different fields. Just to name a few of the professions, I have taught engineers, doctors, accountants, coaches, business owners, and real estate developers. 

Lessons for children:

I have been working with children for many years as a camp counselor, coach, and private tutor. I know that children have A LOT of energy that sometimes can be hard to control. I think it's important to not control their energy, but harness it in a positive way and use it in activities for leaning. I have many fun lessons that are tailored towards young students. All of my lessons for children include games that help to reinforce what was learned.

Everyone learns a language differently. When first meeting a student a perform an analysis of his or her needs that helps me tailor each lesson plan to him or her to help the student achieve their goals.
