Hi! My name is Sheena. I was born and raised in the beautiful country of the Philippines. I mostly do freetalking conversation classes where we can simply speak in a more relaxed setting, and I offer structured classes as well for students of all ages and different English proficiency levels. I also tailor my lessons according to the individual's desired learning goals to make sure that they reach their full potential.


Educational and Professional Background

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Diploma in Stenography (Court Reporting). I have been working as a Content Editor in a large corporate company for over six years.

I have professional experience teaching Japanese and Koreans students of all ages, with different proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I specialize in basic conversational English, vocabulary, writing, sentence construction, pronunciation, and grammar. Whether you are looking to develop your English conversation skills, build your vocabulary, improve your grammar, or to simply chat, I am here to help.


TEACHING STYLE

As a tutor, I pride myself on being patient, friendly, and approachable. I believe that creating a comfortable and positive learning environment is crucial for students to achieve their goals, and I strive to make each lesson engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to your specific needs and interests.

In terms of my teaching style, I like to use a variety of methods and materials to keep lessons interesting and dynamic. I incorporate a lot of interactive activities, such as conversation practice, situational analysis, and games & quizzes (mostly for kids), to help students stay engaged and motivated. I also place a strong emphasis on communication and feedback, and encourage students to ask questions and provide input throughout the lesson.

I am adaptable and can cater to your preferred style of instruction, whether you prefer a structured approach OR a more casual conversation. I am open to your suggestions and can customize the lesson plan to meet your individual learning style and preferences. I will make sure to accommodate your needs to ensure that you get the most out of the lesson.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy trying out new recipes, watching true crime documentaries, going on beach trips, going on a hike or walk, camping, and exploring new cafes and restaurants in the city, and learning more about different cultures and languages.

I believe that language learning is not just about mastering grammar and vocabulary, but also about gaining a deeper understanding of the people and cultures behind the language.
