Hello! My name is Ellie and I am an English teacher and test-taking tutor. I earned my B.A. in English at the University of California, Berkeley. 

For the past year, I have taught 12th grade English at a private Thai school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. 100% of my students were able to earn the marks needed to pass the course and graduate from high school. I also ran the newspaper club with 10th and 11th grade students. Before that, I was an SAT tutor as well as an assistant teacher at an after-school program for k-6 students in California, USA. 

My personality is generally lighthearted, quirky, and fun. My teaching style is similar with one main exception: I like to make learning enjoyable for my students, but it is a collaborative activity. I expect my students to take the work seriously and work hard to learn. I am straightforward (in a friendly way) about correct/incorrect answers and how we can work together to improve. Overall, it should be an enjoyable time and a good time to build confidence in speaking English for all age levels.
