Learn practical German language skills that working professionals can use right away.

Nice to meet you. I am Minako, a German language tutor and coach. Thank you for visiting my profile! Allow me to first introduce myself! (^^)!
・When I was a high school student, I spent a year as an exchange student in Salzburg, Austria.

　I attended a local high school gymnasium and learned German from zero while being taken care of by my host family. After returning to Japan, I majored in German literature in college, and during my time as a company employee, I was often involved with Germany-related tasks. I also had the opportunity to look after a German family who were my neighbors for about four years. 　I am able to convey nuances that cannot be understood from textbooks alone, including expressions that are useful in daily life.

・I worked for a German company for over 10 years.
 I can help you with practical English and German expressions as I have used both English and German to communicate with German expatriates and headquarter employees. If you are fluent in English, I can give you tips on how to learn English and German with reference to each other.

 

German:

 Passed the ZDfB (Zertifikat der Deutschen Deutschen Bundeslänge) ( equivalent to CEFR B2 level)  Passed the ZOP (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung) (equivalent to CEFR C1 level)

English:
 TOEIC score 895


My lessons are aimed towards the following students:

Based on my own experience, I incorporate
a lot of listening and dictation from introductory and beginner level. My careful explanations in Japanese have been well received.

There is no need to buy new materials or textbooks.

You can take lessons while using your own materials that you already have at hand.

I can also provide supplementary materials as needed.



【Introductory to Beginner　A1-A2 level】
・Students who have purchased German language materials aimed for beginners, but are having difficulty motivating themselves to study on their own and would like to know how to do so. ・Students who are interested in discussing their interests and favorite things with people from German-speaking countries. ・Students who would like to communicate with locals in German once they are finally able to visit Europe freely again.

【Intermediate　B1-B2 level】
・Students who wish to receive intensive training in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. ・Students who want to learn German for business. ・Students who are studying in a German-only textbook, but would like to have a little bit of Japanese explanation.

 


Lesson Time Schedule

　・My German lessons
are available on weekday evenings from 20:00 to 23:00 Japan standard time. I am available for lessons on Saturdays and Sundays upon request and if time permits. ・Since 2010, I have been managing an aromatherapy/reflexology salon as my main business, so my availability can be limited.m(__)m
