Hello! My name is Trixie. It's a pleasure to meet you!
ABOUT ME
My name is Trixie Lei-Anne, but you can call me Trix for short. I am 22 years old and I am currently in the Philippines. I have a Bachelor's degree in Management Accounting, and I am working towards becoming a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). But before wanting to be an accountant, I was once an aspiring journalist. In fact, if I did not decide to pursue management accounting, I would have taken a degree program in Journalism. When I was in high school, I was a part of the school publication. I had the chance to write about school events and publish them in the campus newspaper.
My hobbies include listening to music, playing acoustic guitar, singing, and reading books. I also love to eat, and my favorite food is pasta. My goal is to set foot on all seven continents of the world. My dream countries to visit are Japan, South Korea, Italy, and New Zealand. So far, I have only been to Hong Kong. I went there to spend my 18th birthday.

TEACHING BACKGROUND
I began teaching English online when I was eighteen years old. For over three years now, I have conducted more than 5,000 lessons for different students at different levels. I can say that this job is easily one of the best since it allows me to meet people from different cultures. I have experience teaching kids who are 5-12 years old, teens who are 13-18 years old, and adults who are above 18. I do conversational topics, as well as Business English courses and English for young learners. I have taught students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels as well. I have a lot of experience teaching Japanese students and I can say that they are one of the most professional and polite people on earth.
In the Philippines, English is one of the official languages. Most educational institutions use English as the medium of instruction. I have near-native English speaking skills since I have been speaking the language since I was young.
TEACHING STYLE
I always make sure that I am a coach and facilitator of my students. For this reason, my lessons are mostly student-centered. I believe that this teaching style is best to gauge student learnings and progress. Moreover, I ensure that my students have the freedom to express themselves in my class. I have a friendly and approachable persona because my goal is to make my students feel comfortable as they learn from my lessons. I try to be not just a teacher, but also a friend to my students.
In every lesson I conduct, I always make sure to provide both verbal and written feedback during and after each lesson. I believe providing written feedback will help students' learning retention.
My lessons are customizable to each of my students. This means that everyone can take my lessons. However, I make sure that each lesson aims to improve students' reading, listening, and speaking skills, as well as their vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. I am aware that these are the areas Japanese students are struggling with.
I hope to meet you in my class soon. Let's have a fun chat and let's learn together. See you!
