Ryan Yokota 講師的自我介紹
講師休假中。
Hi there! My name is Ryan and I am currently living in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Chicago a few decades ago to attend graduate school.
I have worked in a number of different kinds of jobs, primarily in the education sector and in the NGO/nonprofit sector. Currently I work as an instructor at DePaul University teaching classes on Modern East Asian History and Asian American Studies. I had a number of experiences teaching conversational English in Japan while I was in Tokyo and in Okinawa.
I received my PhD in Japanese History at the University of Chicago, my MA in Asian American Studies at UCLA, and a BA with a double major in English-American Studies and History, also from UCLA.
I had the fortunate experience to have been able to live in Japan (mostly Tokyo, Yokohama, and Okinawa) for a number of years while I was doing my Japanese language studies and research for my PhD.
My hobbies include learning about history as well as current events and news. I like to watch movies, listen to music (mostly alternative, EDM, and hip-hop), and take hip-hop dance classes when I get the chance.
I'm really excited to meet you and would be glad to help you along in your English language learning adventures!
