Hello my name is Alex.


I was born and grew up in Melbourne, Australia, however I’ve also lived in England, Canada and Thailand. My native language is English (Australian and British) however I can also speak Japanese and Thai (ภาษาไทยได้น่ะครับ)


I graduated from Australian National University with a Master of General and Applied Linguistics (Advanced). My graduation thesis topic was second language acquistion by adults, focusing on the case where the mother tongue is completely different to the second language (for example Japanese people who are learning English). I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a CELTA certificate.


I have taught over 10,000 one-on-one lessons in Japan to adults and university students.
