Hello there! It sure is lovely to meet you and I am very excited because of the art lessons I have planned for you!
But first here is a little bit about me: I have a TESOL certificate for teaching, and I taught English in South Korea for two years!
I have been published on Vogue Italia Photovogue as a photographer and I have screened my short film La Douleur Exquise as the All Light India Film Festival as well as in cinemas in South Africa. Art and English have been an integral part of my life, I studied Film Production and English literature at the University of Cape Town and was even offered a scholarship to study design which I politely declined in order to pursue my passion for art and English Literature. I have also finished working on a gold leaf acrylic painting series which I have available for viewing on my magazine. I am currently working as a freelance illustrator and English teacher who is passionate about teaching art to students who also want to learn English!
I am very bubbly and energetic and one thing is really am able to do well is listen and be patient. Learning is not a race - it is the ability to use skills and knowledge we already have and expand it through association with the world around us. That is how I like to teach - through cultural identification.
My lessons are focused on movies and the world of cinema! We can analyse scenes from movies and discuss elements of them such as color schemes and compositions. I am also able to teach the basics of art and using acrylic paint or illustrating on an iPad.
I look forward to teaching you and beginning our lessons!
