Hello!  My name is Robert and I am originally from California, in the United States.  I am a certified TEFL teacher and have been teaching students online for almost one year.  I currently live all over the world as my wife and I housesit for families in different countires.  We watch their pets while they are away from home and in exchange we get to explore new countries around the world.  In the last two years I have visited 27 countries, including Japan.

My interests:

I love to travel and explore new countries.  Meeting new people and learning about different cultures is my favorite part of travel.  My goal is to visit at leats 100 different countries in my lifetime.  I am also an avid sports fan.  I love watching tennis and have played the sport since I was about five years old.  I enjoy indie and jazz music and love reading books as well.  Business news and world events are also very interesting to me, but above all I love learning about new people.

My Cafetalk lessons:
  • Each of my lessons is tailored to individual student and their language goals.
  • I try to follow the 80/20 model, where my students speak at least 80% of the time so there is lots of time for you to practice your language skills.
  • I enjoy learning about my students goals and creating a challenging environment to help them reach those goals.
  • I will focus on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar in my lessons and use a variety of media to help you improve all facets of your English.
  • I offer specialized lessons for students looking to interview with English speaking companies.
  • I provide detailed notes after each lesson so that you can learn from each lesson.
