Hello, I’m Ringo! I graduated (with a linguistics degree) from a university in San Diego, a city that is in the southernmost region of California. Then I worked at a big name English language school as a teacher for about 9 years. After that, I lived in the Netherlands for about two years. Now I'm back in Japan.

I lived in Canada and the US for a total of 5 years, but I picked up English in Japan. Learning English while you’re still in Japan is possible! I will show you just how during my lessons.

If you feel nervous around native speakers, don’t worry! I will provide nice, fun, and thorough lessons! Instead of just listening, we will also train your speaking skills. I do my best to make sure that my students talk as much as they can. I can give lessons entirely in English, or mix in some Japanese if necessary, whatever you need! Let’s have fun learning English together!

☆Experience☆

Worked as a TUTOR teaching English (mostly TOEFL prep) to international students (non-native speakers from all over the world who came to America to study English, including Japanese students) at an ESL school while attending university in San Diego. In college I studied phonology, language acquisition, and ESL/EFL training. I know exactly how to teach you to move your tongue so that you can pronounce American English well! After returning to Japan I worked at an English conversation school for about 9 years until coming to the Netherlands. Not only did I teach conversation and pronunciation lessons, but I was also in charge of test prep courses. I love teaching because it gives me the chance to interact with all sorts of people.
