Hello! My name is Laura and I am an ESL teacher and native English speaker. I live in Richmond, Virginia, which is 2 hours away from Washington D.C. the US capital! 


Teaching experience
I have 6 years of experience as an ESL teacher and tutor, teaching in the United States and Latin America. I have taught English to children, university students, and professionals.  
I currently teach a university course on global studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. I also give private English lessons to people here in Richmond.

Education
I have a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, a masters degree in Anthropology, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

I love to travel, and have visited 6 countries and lived in 4 countries. I hope to do more travelling this year!

About my teaching style
I like to get to know students and learn about their interests so I can give lessons they will enjoy. Learning English should be fun!
I studied Spanish in Latin America, so I know what it is like to struggle to learn another language. I think being a language learner helps me to be a better English teacher!
I absolutely love music and I think it is the best way to learn a language. 
Most importantly, I love teaching English because it is an opportunity to learn about other cultures, as well as share my own culture.
