Living with a tuxedo cat has brought happiness to our lives. So, what's the appeal of Tuxedo cats as companion animals?
Some people believe the world is divided into two types of people - Cat people and Dog people. I beg to differ. I love all animals, but this lesson is about cats. In particular, the advantages of "Tuxedo cats", as companion animals.

Animal welfare in some countries doesn't seem to be as important of a priority as I think it should be and having a mild allergy to cats, I hadn't planned on having one, but maybe "Paw" had different ideas. She clawed her way into our hearts.
When we moved into our house in Serbia (where animal welfare doesn't appear to be as important to some people as I would expect it to be), the previous person had left a cat and her kittens in a box. They assured us they were going to try to find homes for all the kittens and that the mother cat wasn't theirs, but that it lived a couple of doors down the street. Well, she did find some of them homes, but after finding somewhere for the first two, she announced "it's quite hard to find people that want a cat. It seems everyone in this village already has at least one". I'm not sure how hard she tried to find them all homes, but 3 left, apparently for their "forever homes". The one that remained, will remain, forever with us! She's found her forever people. This house (the house itself) is not a forever home for any of us, but we are obviously her forever people.
She was the only "tuxedo" amongst the four kittens. I can say beyond a shadow of doubt, she's the most beautiful and intelligent of the litter. Obviously, I'm not biased in any way, shape or form. It's true!

I wasn't really familiar with the term "tuxedo cat" until I was showing her off to someone and they said, "Oh she's a tuxedo cat!". A quick search on the internet uncovered some uncanny similarities amongst tuxedo cats (which isn't a breed of cats, it's a colour pattern).
They're 200% smarter than the average cat ! Numerous articles made that statement, although some claim there is no scientific proof. I feel I can attest to the fact that they are at least 200% smarter. She is by far, the smartest cat we've ever come across.
So, come and join me for a lesson about cats. Let me share with you some of her antics, as I teach you some of the many cat idioms that will allow you to sound more fluent when you're chatting with native speakers.
As well as learning more about what tuxedo cats have in common, we can read up on cat behaviour or cat nutrition. If you would like to, we can chat about your own cat and swap stories about their humourous habits.
As you can see, tuxedo cats are even very helpful around the home. Some cats catch creatures, she helps with the household chores :-) She likes to inspect everything! She's obsessed with cleaning (and not just herself). She'll check the washing machine, inside and out, watch you load and unload it. She likes to supervise me when I'm hanging the clothes on the line. She loves to steal socks and drag them around the house. She'll poach the sponge out of the bathtub or kitchen sink (and then leave it in a random location, once she's lost interest in it). She's fascinated with water and insists on investigating where the water goes down the sink drain, how it drips through the water filter,, why it steams coming out of the shower rose. She would give the likes of Messi and Ronaldo a run for their money when it comes to ball-handling skills. She's an absolute yogurt fiend. She just can't get enough of the stuff. She knows the sound of you opening your yogurt and the clinking of the spoon against the side of the jar. (We make our own yogurt, and keep it in jars). And like all cats, knows the sound of the fridge opening :-)
If you are short on time, but love the idea of this lesson, or just chatting about cats in general (or sharing stories of your own cat/s), a shorter version of this lesson can also be done as a 25 minute lesson.
Whether you're keen to learn some new idioms, brush up on your cat nutirition, practise your listening and/or speaking skills or read something different for a change, book a lesson with me soon.
I think this lesson is just going to be the cat's pajamas! Don't you?
And, you might be grinning like a Cheshire cat, once you've finished your lesson.
So, come on, what's stopping you? Has the cat got your tongue ? :-)
