Let's talk about a song you're writing in English, and I'll give you feedback and suggestions!

As far as styles I like, folk and alt-rock are some of my favorites, but I love anything with catchy, pretty, or thought-provoking lyrics! I was raised on songwriters like Jackson Browne, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan but I keep an open ear for anybody doing interesting things with words and music.
Send me some lyrics (with or without tabs or sheet music is OK!) from one song you're working on and some examples of songs or artists you're inspired by. Using the examples of things you like, I'll be better able to see what moves you in a song, and help you achieve that in your own lyrics! If you are comfortable including a recording of you singing or speaking the lyrics in rhythm, that will help me match the rhythm, but it's not completely necessary! While I will be checking for incorrect vocabulary or sometimes grammar, I will primarily be helping you perfect your artistic tone or voice for a given song, helping you choose words that best communicate that, and ensuring the rhythm of your words comes across as natural to first-language English speakers!
After that, we'll meet and look over some suggestions and revisions and we can talk about what you think works best.
