Have you ever heard of this character, ふなっしー （Funassyi）before?

Many people have been telling me about ふなっしー yet as I did not have time to check it out, I did not really know why it is so big in Japan...until last night when I finally got the first look at this popular character...and...はまっちゃいました。

He/She is a character from Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture. One interesting fact about Funassyi is that he/she did not receive official approval as the character to represent Funabashi City yet he/she is out there and receives great popularity from the crowd. It is said that Funassyi is a pear elf which would only appear once in 2000 years. Funassyi is famous for his/her irregular movement and his/her talks.
