My Cafetalk highlights of 2023

Weekly Topic: Let's share our 2023 memories of Cafetalk

2024-01-08

2023 was my first year at Cafetalk and I have enjoyed every moment.

It's hard to pick out just one memory.

I have met some amazing people from many different countries in Asia, Europe and North America.

I have heard both funny stories that made me laugh out loud and sad tales that have moved me.

I have spent hours talking about the big and important life questions with very thoughtful people, but had many conversations that were lighter and full of jokes and fun.

I have analysed football highlights with Premier League fans from Japan and Taiwan (and tried to avoid talking about my favourite team, who keep losing).

I have explored the lyrics to some of the most famous songs in the world, but also songs that I had never heard before, which are now on my playlist.

I have helped people prepare serious presentations for their work and also dressed up in a terrible home made wizard costume for Halloween and talked about Harry Potter.

And I have learnt a lot about new places, culture, food and society that continues to surprise and amaze me.

Best of all - I have met incredible people who I have become very friendly with. That is an absolute privilege and I am grateful to everyone I have spoken to for sharing their life stories with me.

I look forward to more Cafetalk in 2024!
