きょうは　植物園（しょくぶつえん）に　いきました。

I visited a botanical garden today.

さざんかという　木（き）の　お花（おはな）が　きれいでした。

Flowers of the trees called “Sazanka” were very pretty.

さざんかは　日本（にっぽん）や中国（ちゅうごく）原産（げんさん）の木といわれています。

It is believed that “sazanka” is native to Japan and China.

さざんかの　はなは　バラに　似（に）ていますね！

Flowers of sazanka are similar to roses!

この格助詞（かくじょし）「に」は　比較（ひかく）の　元（もと）になる　基準（きじゅん）を　しめす　「に」です。

In this case, the particle “ni” indicates the basis for a comparison or the criterion which the comparison is built on.

でも、ちょっと　むずかしいですが、、、

さざんかの　はなは　バラに　似（に）ていますね！

さざんかの　はなは　バラと　似（に）ていますね！
mean the same.

「似ている」のまえは　「と」でも　同じ（おなじ）　意味（いみ）です。
