Hello everyone! My name is Ian. I live in Yukon Territory, Canada. Before the Yukon I lived in Vancouver. I also spent many years living in Yamagata, Japan. My family has been moving a lot since I was a child, so I love international travel.
I studied Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) as well as Japanese language and culture. Since 2008 I have been teaching English to students in Canada, Japan, and across the world. In this time, my specialty is pronunciation. In many schools I taught a special pronunciation intensive course.
When I’m not teaching English, I’m always looking for adventure! I love having new experiences. Now, because I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, I can see the Aurora every day. I also like kayaking, snowshoeing and many other winter sports.
My Style:
Confidence! Feeling comfortable with the language you know is number 1 in my opinion. Fluency does not mean perfect, native speaker style English. Fluency means being comfortable and confident in your English regardless of your ability level. Because of this, your objective is most important. I will fit my style to your level.

Let’s talk soon! I look forward to meeting you!
Ian
