My name is Kyle. It is really great to meet you all! Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile!
I’m from the USA (New Jersey specifically) and taught English there privately for about 8 years. Most of my students were from Asia and I learned a lot from them too!
I came to Japan in the summer of 2017. I taught English for a large company, with students as young as 3 and as wise and experienced as 80s. I’m TESOL certified and taught basic to advanced English, helped students prepare for tests, and everything in between!
I had a great time with many students but recently quit to pursue some new dreams! Dreams are great, right?
Now, I have my own students I teach privately and am trying my best to help more! I will be spending more time on Cafetalk and I hope to talk with you!
I enjoy helping people, having good chats, thinking (I like philosophy), anime/manga, travel, and more! I also used to do Kung Fu but need to do it again. I miss it.

However far you are on your journey, I can help take you farther!
If I can only give you one piece of advice though, it’s this:
If you have a teacher you like, that’s a wonderful thing. Keep working with them and you will definitely grow as an English speaker.
But, I tell all my students something that I feel is very important. Try more teachers. There is no Teacher God with all the skills, knowledge, and teaching styles that can teach you English found all over the world.
Try different teachers for a variety. Try so you can learn much from everyone. Different countries and even different regions within a country sometimes use different English. Generations change language and professions sometimes use different English as well.
It's all fun to learn though. So, how about trying a lesson with me and the person whose profile you looked at before mine? You never know what you could learn!
