ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Eileen, and I'm from California.

I studied Japanese for two years in college, but I've been self-studying for many more. I also taught myself how to draw, and I'm a freelance artist now! I also work as a script writer for games, and I have a reputation of making people cry with my stories, funnily enough!

My hobbies are drawing, playing video games, writing stories, and watching anime/reading manga. Don't worry if you're a little shy--I'm a shy person, too!

I've tutored English in schools and privately as volunteering before. As a person who has learned a second language as an adult, I know the difficulties and the ways to overcome them!

TEACHING STYLE

I want to make a casual and comfortable space for you to learn in, especially because I know how embarrassing it is when you still struggle to speak a new language. I'll do what I can to encourage you, because mistakes are how we learn!

I'm fluent in Japanese, so I can explain more nuances in translation that would otherwise be lost. I focus on getting to know your specific needs as a student, and forming a lesson around that.

My teaching style is suited for young adults and adults who want English practice through translating, reading together, or even just chatting with each other.

I have a flexible schedule, so feel free to request a time slot outside of my regular hours.
