Hello, my name is Michael,

Nice to meet you.

I am Australian. I was born in Adelaide and have lived in Melbourne and Canberra for work and study.

My main jobs after high school in Adelaide were a swimming / rock-climbing instructor and a signer / guitarist in a band. 

I love outdoors, nature and music.

The first time I came to Japan was in 2003 on a solo tour for my music on a working holiday visa and to meet some Japanese friends.

I then studied International Business / Politics and Japanese at Swinburne University in Melbourne and for 2 years I studied an exchange program at Yamaguchi University (Economics).

I got to study Japanese language, art and history which I really enjoyed. We had a study tour to Tokyo, Hokkaido and Kyoto

After that, I did my research on Japan / Australia policy at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.

I was the President of the Australia - Japan Society (ACT)

I also worked for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Australian Government and after that I moved to Japan to work as an English teacher in 2012.

I have now been living in Japan for around 11 years and work in an export business and English teaching / conversation with lots of different people of different ages, together with students and employees. It is very fun and interesting.

I love travel and have been to many countires in Europe and Asia, plus travelled alot around Australia (especially camping / hiking).

I have loved trying all the different foods and drinks all around the world and visiting amazing places.

I love to read and to talk about many topics, so please don't be shy to talk about any subject with me and feel free to ask questions on anything you like.

I look forward to talking with you and having a good conversation together.
