Hi, my name is Therese.

Teaching is all I have ever wanted to do since I was in 5th grade! I found my niche in teaching when I started teaching English as a second language online in 2012. The diversity of my students was, to say the least, exhilarating. 

Because I was an avid reader from a young age I decided to study as a librarian and in 1985, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science. My additional subjects were English, Phycology and Criminology.

I have developed training material and assessment tools for a tutoring company in Cape Town.. I am an accredited assessor with the ETDP (Education, Training and Development Practices).

My lessons are diverse and include: grammar, conversation, pronunciation and reading. I would like to include interesting “others” for instance:  poetry, cultural experience,  history,  topic related vocabulary, free talking.

My aim is to make your learning experience fun and enjoyable. I do have a wacky sense of humour and love laughing. Having 5 children (4 boys and a girl) I feel like I have been teaching, couching, facilitating for most of my adult life. So to say the least – you will be in very safe, experienced and patient hands.

My hobbies in include reading, swimming, baking, gardeng(especially veggies and herbs) and photo editing. And spending time with my boys....
