I have been living in the Spanish-speaking world for 10 years and have studied Spanish for 14 years. I majored in Spanish at the 4-year university in Kansai, and after studying for about a year, I learned writing, listening and speaking. After graduating, I joined an automobile parts manufacturer and have been active in the Spanish-speaking country for a total of 10 years, taking advantage of my language skills.
The reason I got into Spanish was studying abroad in Ecuador, South America. I experienced culture shock in Ecuador by doing things that were considered insane but were commonplace in Japan, and I was very fascinated by this world I didn't know, and I came to want to know more. I wished I could speak more fluently, or that I could share my thoughts and opinions, so I was disappointed with my lack of language skills at that time.
