Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Gary, and I'm an English Teacher based in Tokyo. I was born and raised in England. My parents are originally from Hong Kong and they moved to England in 1979. The town I grew up in was small but nice and peaceful. At university, I completed a law degree. However, after working in law offices I found I enjoyed my part-time tutoring more enjoyable. So I decided to start teaching English in Japan.

Some of my interests include football, watching the NBA, cooking, travelling, video games, movies, reading, and creating educational content. My favourite football team is Manchester United and I regularly play futsal on the weekends to keep fit and stay in touch with friends. 

Credentials and Qualification:

- Bachelor of Law
- 5 years of experience at conversation schools, high schools, vocational colleges, university and businesses
- 2 years of youth football coaching in Japan

Teaching Style

Interesting, relaxed, enjoyable and fun! I am a patient and friendly teacher. I think it is important to enjoy English. The more you enjoy English, the easier it is to learn.

My lessons are open to students of all levels. I am flexible and welcome to all suggestions to make the lessons better for you. My speciality is on speaking, pronunciation, reading and listening.
