I am a very friendly ESL teacher and academic tutor living in Canada and available for on-line teaching. My background is varied with a keen interest in multicultural activites and events that I support through active or passive participation. So I may attend expositions, book launches and donate to a charitable cause or even work through artistic projects that have a cultural merit and are appreciated.
I have also taught French to Anglophones and Italian to foreigners wanting to do business or travel to Italy.
Qualifications: I have BSc in Biochemistry obtained in 1977, have completed 3 years of medical school in Rome, Italy, a graphic cerificate from Concordia University in 2002 and a TESOL certificate program in 2012. I also took an IBLT training course in 2007.
Teaching Style: Generally my lessons are student based by allowing the student to have as much speaking time as possible. I otherwise spend 50% of my time conversing with them, a quarter of my time doing activities and another 25% teaching grammar. My style can be changed according to the students needs so a business student will discuss topics more relevant to his career. Lastly my lessons are highly motivating and imaginative.
My other interests: I enjoy living back to the community by volunteering at theater shows or helping the elderly. I like to spend time with my family whenever I can. Privately I like gardening, bicycling, working on art projects, writing and reading as well as promtoting my art and creative work. I like helping others promote their creative talent too.
