**NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS** I'm still accepting requests from current and past students, but I'm cutting back on Cafetalk because I've been so busy with my new career.
I'd like to focus on lessons with students I already know while resting outside of work.
Thank you for understanding! <3 *******************************
Hi! My name is Kay, and I taught English in Japan for about four and a half years! I have taught a variety of students, ranging from children in elementary school to adult learners. I am also certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
I'm currently studying Japanese on Cafetalk, and have passed the N3 level of the JLPT. I truly understand what it's like to struggle while learning a language. This empathy motivates me to adapt my lessons to match individual goals and learning styles.
Some fun facts about me:
I have lived in three different states (Florida, California, and Georgia).
I am left-handed.
I worked at Starbucks while in college, so I can do very realistic roleplays.
I love going to karaoke, but I sing very badly (lol).
I like to ride my longboard in spring and summer.
I have both American and Japanese driver's licenses.
I'm a vegetarian now, but my favorite Japanese foods used to be kaisen-don and motsunabe. I'm always open to questions about vegetarianism and other plant-based lifestyles!
Feel free to ask me questions about myself or my life in Japan during our lessons.

Thank you for the great conversation Kay!
I learned a lot about the topic from your perspective and academic knowledge and it was great to discuss our views and experiences!
Thank you also for the book recommendation, I'm excited to take a look!
I'd love to take the lesson again after I have read it so we can talk about it some more. :)
