1. Warm-up activity
Practice Asking Questions
Ask and answer the questions to each other.
Discussion Questions:
1. What is your hobby?
2. What’s your favorite food?
3. What’s your favorite place?
4. What country do you want to visit in the future?
5. Who is the person you respect the most?
6. What is your best memory?
Example Conversation:
Student A: What country do you want to visit in the future?
Student B: I want to visit Italy in the future.
Student A: Where in Italy do you want to visit?
Student B: I want to visit Rome.
Student A: Why do you want to visit Rome?
Student B: I want to visit Rome because I want to see historical buildings. Student A: What historical building do you want to see the most?
Student B: I want to see the Colosseum the most.
Student A: What else do you want to do in Italy?
Student B: I want to eat delicious Italian food and watch a soccer game. Student A: What’s your favorite Italian food? Student B: I like pizza the most.
2. Teacher explaining all the Wh-questions with examples
Who: Person, People: Who is famous in your home country? Who gave you that present?
What: Object: (people, things, animals), Action: What do/will you do? What is your favorite school subject?
Where: Place, Location: Where do you live? Where are you from? When Time When do you usually eat lunch? When is your birthday?
Why: Reason Why do you like _____?
