My Chinese teacher said that if your pronunciation is good, you're halfway there, so pronunciation is very important.
I think pronunciation is also very important in Japanese. I think it's so important that it reflects a person's personality.
If your pronunciation is natural and smooth, what you want to say will be conveyed properly, the other person will find it easy to hear, and they will want to talk to you more. And if you also acquire beautiful pronunciation, I think you will be able to communicate more confidently in conversation.
However, if your pronunciation is difficult to understand, it will be difficult to hear, and the speaker will not be able to convey what you want to say to the other person, which will affect actual communication.
Pronunciation affects your first impression.
