I really loved it! Sally talked slowly enough for me to understand everything clearly. The whiteboard and the cards she uses are very helpful, too.
I already take a japanese class at my university but since it is an additional class and not my major we do not study Kanji. I know some Kanji by seeing them frequently in texts but only a few. I informed her through cafetalk about that fact and I think she adapted very well to my level.
Also she sends PDFs with additional material and explains complicated things in a fun and easy way (she uses both, japanese and anglish explanations!)
She's very nice and I felt comfortable during her class :-)
I enjoyed it very much and would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Kanji - no matter if you're a beginner or not!

Sally sensei is very kind and gentle. I was so impressived by her lesson.
It's perfect for not beginners but high-levels who didn't know 'Kanji'. I'll continue to take her lessons to master Kanji. -

The Kanji lesson with Sally-sensei was my first Cafetalk lesson. She started the lesson with Kanji-cards that showed the development from the symbol for sun, tree, fish etc. to the actual kanji. In her lesson she wrote on a whiteboard and sent me two pdf-files with exercises, which we used during the lesson. She explained the rules of writing Kanjis with do’s and don’ts, which we practiced right after that. Her explanations were very good; she was very friendly and patient when I was a bit confused by the new material.
But it would have been better to send the pdf-files before the lesson, so that I could have printed them out. Otherwise I always had to switch between files and Skype video screen when she wrote something on her board. That’s why I was sometimes a bit confused where we are. Nevertheless, I totally recommend this lesson to everyone, who wants to learn Kanjis!漢字のしくみ Mechanism of Kanji -

The lesson with Sally was really great! She is really friendly and easy to talk to, what created a nice atmosphere. She explains Kanji, Grammar or Vocabulary really well by using simple Japanese words. If you still don't understand the meaning of a word by then, she can still explain it in an even easier way. This is why, I would recommend her to everyone regardless the level. It was a lot of fun, interesting and helpful for my studies. Thank you for teaching me :)

Kanji is fun, especially with Sally-sensei's easy-to-understand explanations. She uses pictures to show how kanji have changed throughout history from their humble beginnings as ideograms. It was also really helpful to me when it was demonstrated how basic kanji are combined to create new kanji with different words and meanings. I think this knowledge and review of basic kanji will really help with my flashcard studies. Now I'm eager to learn more!
I'm at about 1st or 2nd grade level when it comes to knowledge of jouyou kanji (常用漢字・じょうようかんじ), but after this helpful review, it will become much easier for me to remember more difficult kanji along the way. どうもありがとう!
