Hello, I’m Sally.

I currently work in Japan as an online teacher.
I began teaching on Cafetalk in April, 2015.

It is a great joy to be able to speak with students who live both overseas and in Japan, through our Japanese lessons together. As a teacher, nothing makes me happier than seeing my students get better and better at Japanese.

Language learning is similar to sports in that you must be consistent and never stop practicing.
During my lessons, I will help you keep your motivation to learn Japanese high and give you hints to help make the language easier to understand.
I can also give advice on study methods.
If you want me to be strict, i will be strict. If you want a relaxed pace, let’s go at a relaxed pace. I will match the lesson to your learning style.

I have been teaching Japanese both within Japan and abroad for close to 20 years. While teaching abroad, I mentored quite a few non-native Japanese teachers. I have taught over 1000 students up until this point. My former students still keep in touch and I even go abroad to visit them sometimes.

I myself have studied Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Thai, so I understand exactly how hard it is to learn a language. I am currently taking English classes every day in order to learn how to explain things English to beginner level students. To tell you the truth, I’m bad at memorization, so I’m slow to pick up new vocabulary. If you’re that kind of student too, I know exactly how you feel.

I can provide lessons that you’ll be happy with.
I’m am looking forward to meeting you.
