As far as I remember, my crush on apple pie has begun since my kindergarten days. Feeling my teeth sink into the crust layer by layer, and then the sourly sweet apple fillings slip on my tongue, is an experience repeated over and over. When the McDonald's in Indonesia served apple pie, I was so happy. When I found an easy recipe in a food blog post by a Japanese author, I was super pleased. Now I can eat apple pies, one after another without the feeling of spending money each time. Besides, I love baking (and cooking).
After that post, I learned other recipes, but I always returned to this one simple recipe. The required ingredients are available anywhere and are not costly. The process is so easy. And yet, the outcome is superb. One thing I have added to the recipe is cinnamon. Basically, I add cinnamon to anything made from apple e.g. apple yogurt shake, apple jam, apple liqueur, etc. -- except Apple Watch.
Is there one ingredient that is a must for you in your pie?
