It's been cloudy and rainy in my city so far.
June is the rainy season in Japan.
It was announced that Tsuyu:the name of the rainy season in Japan, began in the southern part of Kyusyu yesterday.

So some people don't like it.
Actually, I kind of like it. It has been too hot in summer lately, so I feel like I'm taking a break before that.

An American once said to me "Although Japan has spring, summer, autumn, winter, and rainy seasons, why are there only four seasons instead of five?
Tsuyu is a period that almost all Japanese people are aware of every year. But we don't think we are going to add it to the four seasons.
That's strange!

私の街ではここのところ、曇りや雨が続いています。
日本の6月と言えば梅雨、雨の季節です。昨日は九州南部が梅雨入りしました。
例年１ヶ月ほど、ぐずついた天気が続きますが
最近は夏が暑すぎるので、その前のひと休みといった感じもあります。
以前、アメリカの方から「日本には春夏秋冬と雨季があるのに、なんで五季じゃなくて四季なの？梅雨って何？」と聞かれました。
日本人にとって、梅雨は、毎年はっきりと意識する期間ではありますが
四季にプラスしようとは思いません。不思議ですね。
