"Surrounded by idiots" Part 2. Includes audiobook link and shorter video link.

I have finished reading this very interesting and supportive book on communication.

I have added a long video that I feel is worth watching but what I really think you will like is my idiom challenge.

I challenge you to read or listen to the audiobook file provided below and find idioms and phrases that you know and like as well as some that confuse you. Then book a lesson to discuss them.

This shorter video actually makes some grammar mistakes that I hope some advanced students might be able to spot.

Again let's have a conversation lesson to discuss the video and the book.

Personally, I now understand some of my family members' personality types better. I have also started to analyse my friends. It is no surprise that the ones I socialise with are predominantly yellow. I can see that some people need to develop personality types that complement those around them to aid communication. For example, my Dad is more Red Blue but my Mum was Green Blue to manage my Dad's personality.

I was probably more Yellow at an early age but my father pushed me to be more like him and my mother influenced me with her strong green elements. I feel that I use all four colours nearly equally in my social, professional and professional life. I can see some strong personality traits in my brother and ex-boyfriends too.

My main takeaway is that we need to be more aware of our communication strengths and weaknesses so that we can communicate successfully with anyone.

I repeat that this is a great book to read. I teach English but this book is available in many languages so if your English reading comprehension level is low read it in your native language and enjoy. The book includes a lot of idioms and some dialogue so it requires an advanced reader or a native reader.

Can you find the yellow idiom on this page?

I have a lot of materials to help an advanced student to learn idioms.
Have a super week reading, communicating and learning. Happy New Year.

Best wishes,
Thirzah
