海辺（うみべ）で育（そだ）ちました。東京湾（とうきょうわん）の片隅（かたすみ）の海岸（かいがん）です。海（うみ）は日常（にちじょう）の営（いとな）みに恵（めぐ）みを与（あた）えてくれるところ、魚（さかな）や貝（かい）が、食卓（しょくたく）に上（のぼ）りました。今、海岸線（かいがんせん）は浸食（しんしょく）され、浜（はま）はなくなり、代（か）わりに、巨大（きょだい）な施設（しせつ）が立（た）ち並（なら）ぶようになり、人々（ひとびと）が行きかう、賑（にぎ）やかな町（まち）に変（か）わりました。
昔（むかし）の面影（おもかげ）を残（のこ）しているのは、唯一（ゆいいつ）、心（こころ）をいやす波（なみ）の音（おと）でしょうか。
海（うみ）が好（す）きです。

I grew up by the sea. It is a beach in a corner of Tokyo Bay. The sea is a blessing to our daily life,
Fish and shellfish were on our table.
Now, the coastline has eroded, the beaches are gone, and in their place, huge facilities have taken their place。
The town has been transformed into a bustling place where people go to and fro.

The only thing that remains of the old days is the soothing sound of the waves.
I love the sea.
