Have you had the chance to travel this year?

I can’t say I’ve done much in the way of travelling this year.  Of course, as a result of the pandemic, foreign travel had been extremely limited.  Another consequence has been a huge hike 

in the cost of plane tickets. My country of origin is Britain, but I haven’t been back there for more than 25 years and I have no wish to do so now. I feel much more connected to Japan than England in just about every aspect of life.

In terms of domestic travel I’ve done a few short trips for my company.  For example, I went to Okayama a couple of times which was a first for me.  That seems to be a very pleasant but perhaps unremarkable Japanese city.  I wonder if it has any places of interest?  Maybe I should check.. Recently I went up (?) to Kagamihara in Gifu to work with some junior high school students doing an online exchange lesson with an American school. I used to live in Gifu so it was lovely to go back there and see so much familiar scenery.

I have no real plans to do much more travelling in my life because I am a very content person who simply enjoys reading, exercising and doing the garden.  Let’s hope I’m not getting close-minded!
