Something I want to do the best now

2022-11-01

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I went to the nearest swimming pool twice a month. I said “the nearest”, but it required about twenty minutes of driving. I can barely swim twenty-five meters in freestyle. I can neither swim breaststroke nor backstroke, and more so the butterfly stroke, but these things never prevent me from enjoying swimming. In the swimming pool, I swam and walked slowly and freely. Yes, I felt completely free in the water. It seems strange since I’m not a fish, so I can’t breathe under the water and I can’t move fast. However, in the water, I was free. I was entirely alone, but it was comfortable. All things surrounding me were clear and bright. Stroke by stroke, I became free, as if flying in the serene sky. Every mundane and bothersome thing had gone away from me in the water, so I loved the time spent in the pool.

So, if you ask me, I want to go to the swimming pool again. It’s not so hard to make it come true, because all I have to do is prepare a swimsuit and towels and drive to the pool. But I won’t do it right away. Because of my laziness, it’s troublesome to do that, and I know I feel very tired after swimming. After the free dreamy time, I’ll find my wet hair, a swimsuit that needs to be washed, and tiredness. If I had more energy, I would go to the swimming pool again. Because the world in the pure and sparkling water was splendid and made me so free.
