Living in a tropical island here in Cebu Philippines, we always have a chance to enjoy the summer season throughout the year. Hence we don't make any special plans every summer because it is just easy for us to make last minute bookings on resort hotels or visit nice beaches whenever we like.
The Philippine archipelago's climate is divided into two major seasons; dry and wet seasons. For those who wish to visit the country, our rainy (wet) season is from June to November and dry season is from December to May. Although it is supposed to rain a lot during wet season, it hardly even so recently. If it does, it rains for a few hours in the day or just at night so you can still enjoy a bright sunny day the next morning.
Whenever I have some spare time on weekends, I usually go swimming in a nearby beach with friends or family members. We usually bring our own food and have a picnic there. It is such a relaxing activity that most people do after a long and tiring weekdays. If I'm up for a long ride (four hours), we would visit an adventure park and enjoy various activities such as horseback riding, ziplining, wall climbing, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, cycling and fishing.
There are lots of enjoyable recreation these sorts of adventure parks and resorts offer. However for someone like me who is afraid of heights, I can't try those I consider extreme activities such as walking on a hanging bridge. It looked very easy and exciting when I was watching those brave individuals having fun crossing the swinging bridge. But when I tried it, I almost vomitted along the way. Cheeky friends and relatives intentionally swayed the bridge and my legs shook in fear. I couldn't bare to look down and just tightly gripped on the rope on each side of the bridge. I swear I would never do that again. I could try anything except for those involving heights like ziplining, edge coaster and sky walking which many people really love doing.
Cebu island offers a wide range of natural attractions and leisure activities for every age group. One thing that I've always wanted to try is the whale shark encounter in a neighboring town. It is so close to my place to the point that we always postpone going there since we can go and see that fishing village so easily. I live near the sea and they provide activities like swimming with the whale sharks which I don't find really exciting. I've always been swimming and have seen many kinds of sea creatures. But hopefully I could get the chance to swim with them soon since the whale shark is believed to be the largest shark and the largest known fish in the world.
