Hello everyone. How are you today? It’s Teacher Asuka.
The other day, I joined an online travel in New York City (NYC). It was so much fun for me to spend a day during the Golden Week Holiday without going outside. I would like to show you some popular travel itineraries.
After landing the airport, we went to see the 'Statue of Liberty' first, and then we went to the area of Central Park. On the way to the Central Park, we could find the famous memorial of John Lennon, where there were many flowers for the rest.
In-between Central Park, you will see Natural History Museum and Metropolitan Museum. They are huge museums so that you can't see all the exhibitions in an hour or so. My guide recommends me to stay there for a day each to see both if I will have visited there.
Central Park,NYNext, my guide took me to the Empire State Building, which was established 150 years ago and has renewed lately. This is one of the famous landmarks in NYC. Inside the building, you will see how to build it, one of the oldest elevators and so on. I thought it was just amazing because it was built in Japan's early Meiji era.
Moreover, my guide took me to the famous downtown,’ Times Square’, where you enjoy spending 24 hours because you can get into some famous theaters, shops, and restaurants where they open until midnight.
Times SquareIn NY city, you will also see Google NY city branch, Starbucks NY shop, YANKEE Stadium, various traditional historic buildings, and Grand Central Station, where it is used as a scene of the movie 'Untouchable' as many of you know.
My guide also tells me one of the popular supermarkets,’ Trader Joe’s’, where you can buy some nice souvenirs. Japanese people usually call it 'Tre-jo'.
Trader Joe's SupermarketFinally, I’m very much interested in one of the sophisticated hotels named 'The Plaza Hotel', which was used at 'Plaza Accord' in 1985, and asked whether it still existed or not.
She said that former President, Mr. Tramp was an owner for the hotel from 1988 to 1995. It was renovated for 3 years and costs 450 million dollars and has reopened since 2008.
The Plaza Hotel, NYThe appearance and history of the hotel has succeeded, and it is registered one of the national historic buildings. It might be a good idea to visit and enjoy afternoon tea at such a gorgeous hotel when visiting NYC.
Well, that’s all for this time. Thank you for joining me as always.
See you next time.
