Hello, everyone! How’s it going? It’s Teacher Asuka.

Today, I’m going to talk about ‘Longevity and our future life'.

The other day, I read an interesting book named 'LIFE SHIFT’, which has been very popular since 2016, written by Lynda Gratton , a Professor of London Business School and others.
In this book, we can learn how to live our life in the future.

Because of 'longevity era', especially it is said that Japanese people who were born in 2007 tend to be live to be more than 107. From the survey of Health and Welfare Ministry, the number of the age of 100 people would be more than 85,000 in 2021. Therefore, most of the people in Japan will live to be 100!

As the book shows, we must change the general way of living such as ‘education, work and then retired model into new style of living both learning and working model. We can make several careers in life, when it comes to the 100-year life which is called 'multi-stage life', not general 'three-stage life'. In short, we need to consider, not how to live after retired, but how to live our life until 100 in total.

The book also tells us a lot of important things for long life.

We need to live in good health and independently at first, then we have intangible assets such as friends, family, knowledge, and skills rather than money. Moreover, we should invest by ourselves instead of leisure in your free time.

For younger generation, the professor suggests they have curiosity, making human relations rather than memorizing subjects, and have a life of living the 100-year life.

I come to know that living such 100-year life will bring us more chance to be different from other people's way of living. Younger children will be able to make the most of such chances through their longer life.

Viva! The 100-year life!!

Thank you for joining me as usual.

See you next time!
