Quarantine interests

Weekly Topic: Newly found interests from spending more time at home during quarantine

2021-10-09

I’ve found the time to get into many interests since quarantine began. I set up a little home gym using resistance bands. I took the cue from many fitness youtubers, who suddenly found themselves in the same situation as me. And suddenly there were a multitude of ‘how to’ videos on using resistance bands for training, how to hit the muscles, how often to train, the correct nutrition etc. I’ve picked up a lot compared to previous years. Now I can’t wait to travel, where I can bring my handy bands with me when I go overseas.

Learning the basics of Investing has been another thing the quarantine has allowed me to get into. I now regularly check the news on shares, crypto and property. It’s amazing to know how other people have made money, in ways which I had never understood before.

Finally I have read a lot more since the quarantine began. I tend to read fantasy and science fiction, but I also read non-fiction as well. I find reading rewarding, in a way watching video is not. True, it is much easier to watch video, and it does have its place for me, but I set a little time each day to read.
