Social Distancing

Mar 30, 2020

Hello English learners,

Today I wanted to introduce the term social distancing. Have you heard it?

It means that we have to stay at least 6 feet (2 m.) apart so we don't spread Coronavirus to each other.

How can you use the term?

Here are two examples:

We must practice social distancing.

I am social distancing.

Note that in the first example social distancing is a noun and in the second example it's a verb.

In social distancing, if we leave the house, we should stay at least 2 m. away from anyone we meet. However, we can stay closer to the people we live with.

So when you are outside you see couples or families who stay close together and strangers who stay apart.

I hope you could learn something in this blog. If you want to talk to me about this or more topics, please sign up for a lesson! Hope you stay healthy and happy.

Thanks,
Cecily
